Nashua Patch: Moore Mart Tripling Efforts, Seeks Items

WHAT: Help our troops celebrate the Fall Season by donating a gift bag (no larger than 8"x10"x3") with Patriotic items/candy, healthy snacks, encouraging notes and cards.
WHEN: Drop off of gift bags will be on Thursday, May 17th from 3 pm – 7 pm.
WHERE: U.S. Army National Guard Armory – 154 Daniel Webster Highway, Nashua NH 03060.
WHY: Because we care!
Individuals, organizations, and businesses are welcome to donate decorated brown bags (see photo of gift bags) that are no larger than 8"x10"x3" (please no brown lunch/sandwich bags).

MANCHESTER, NH - Manchester’s first adventure race is this spring! Adventure5k, which was announced in the fall, is quickly approaching! More than 400 runners are already signed up to compete. Participants will challenge themselves by tackling a hilly 5K race filled with mud and obstacles at McIntyre Ski Area located at 50 Chalet Way on April 28, 2012.

The wave-times are filling up fast. Most runners sign up in teams, and already more than 70 teams have claimed their team name and begun to recruit others to run. Adventure5K organizers expect to see more than 1,000 runners and more than 2,000 spectators on race day!

NH.com is the organization behind the race, and they’ve partnered up with a New Hampshire-based charity.

Happy Winter everyone. Although that is a relative statement. For some of you it may be happy. No snow to shovel, no scary driving techniques, and lower fuel bills. But if your a skier, sledder or snow
plower, it may not be so great. Like I said, it's all relative. I believe this is a season of a La Nina weather pattern. Now I'm not a meterologist by any means, but this is what I came up with in Wikipedia. In 2011, on a global scale, La Niña events helped keep the average global temperature below recent trends. As a result, 2011 tied with 1997 for the 11th warmest year on record. It was the second coolest year of the 21st century to date, and tied with the second warmest year of the 20th century. A relatively strong phase of La Niña opened the year, dissipated in the spring before re-emerging in October and lasted through the end of the year.
