Letters from the Troops

Paul • Mon 11 of Mar, 2013 (13:48 UTC)
Paul,
Thank you for sending all the packages and I apologize for the late email. We've been out on an operation with our ANA unit and just returned. In addition to our teams, we shared many of the packages with the FOB Chapline, who delivered them to the various units co-located here. The packages were definitely welcome, as most of the guys who received things over the Holidays had run low. Please extend our sincere thanks to everyone on your team and all the donors. We very much appreciate all the effort, time and money that went in to getting them here.

Thanks again!
Mike

Letters from the Troops

Paul • Thu 03 of Jan, 2013 (19:30 UTC)
Good morning,

THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the wonderful care packages you have sent - you are such blessings!

We are deployed to a very small location in XXXXXXX, and as you can see by the two photos I've attached - mail call is the happiest time of the week!

I'm sure you all wonder if what you do matters, and I'm here to tell you, that it does. We only get mail three times a week, but you can see by the lines forming and the looks of envy that everything you send is a blessing.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart, and may God richly bless you all for the work you are doing for our military. It means more than you will ever know.

Very Respectfully,
Kavina M. Agnew, SMSgt, USAF
First Sergeant, 405 Expeditionary Security Forces

Good afternoon everyone. I hope you all are doing well and not too stressed from the holiday prep. Myself, now that my children are older, there is not as much to do. But that also brings up the fact that I myself am older as well so it takes me twice as long to do anything. I guess it evens out somehow. As winter sets in, I am reminded of how lucky I am despite the fact that I am not outside as much. I was never a big fan of the cold. But at least I will be home for the holidays, unlike our men and women serving our Nation.

The November packing was a huge success. I hope many of you were able to go. We marked a tremendous milestone with our 50,000th package being assembled and shipped. It is our hope there will not have to be another 50 thousand more before they are all home safe and sound. Just seeing all the wonderful stockings everyone assembled and donated was heartwarming. The magnitude of generosity was what the holidays are all about. We ha…

We are a small embedded training team that works with the Afghan National Army near Senjary Afghanistan. Our time here is almost done and we should be home sometime in early January. For the majority of our team this is the third or fourth deployment and fifth in a couple of cases. Thank you so very much for what you do. Our Security
Forces Advisory Team received three boxes from you today. The stockings are a friendly reminder of home and could not have come at a better time. Everybody on our team tore through them, shared, traded, joked, and had a great time with them. There was a couple of near physical confrontations over candy, all in good nature though. It was a welcome break in our daily life and there is absolutely no way I canthank you enough. God bless you.
